This MoraModules News Bulletin is especially for you. I am announcing that I will be posting a CA TPEs Domain 7 Literacy Study Guide for accessing modules to guide future and current educators to the pedagogical knowledge base for literacy education for multilingual learners. The Study Guide will be ready for use by teacher education faculty and teacher credential candidates for the fall semester 2026. Access to Study Guide will be available through purchase of any of the membership plans for moramodules.com. This includes membership in the Limited Plan or Full Access Plan as well as the Spanish Language Pedagogy Book Companion Website.

This Study Guide replaces the Reading Instruction Competency Assessment RICA Study Guide because the RICA exam is now defunct as a result of legislation under SB 1263 Teacher Credentialing bill (Newman). This legislation reaffirmed and updated the TPA system for California’s teaching credential candidates with an emphasis on literacy assessment and teacher credentialing program accountability.

They are drawn from the language and concepts of California’s Literacy Domain 7 TPEs, ELA/ELD Framework, and ELD Standards and are intended as a learning aid rather than official CCTC titles.
